Hello,

I have installed G2Bridge and Geeklog and Gallery2 software on my webserver. I am already using a gallery software, but I want to be able to use the MiniSlide show in the G2 software. I already have a ton of pictures on the server and I didnt want to add the same ones for a different gallery. Is there a way to create pointers from the originals to the G2Bridge database? I have already tried adding links in the album folders and manually inserting the information into the database tables, but no luck.

My thinking was I could copy all the links into the G2 folders and then load a flat file into the database with all the appropiate information. But it would never update the gallery page showing the newly added image.

Or an easier way, when creating a minislide show it asks for an albumID. Is there a way to put a folder location instead of an ID?

Any ideas?

Thanks

If you already have images on your webserver that are not in gallery's database, you can easily add them to gallery without having gallery make an additional copy.

  • Add the image directory to the legal Local Server Upload Paths in Gallery Admin -> Web/Server
  • Navigate to the album you would like to add the images to or create one
  • Add Items -> From Local Server
  • Choose your directory -> Find Files
  • Select your files -> check Use Symlink

Now your images will be available just as any others in Gallery for the minislideshow.
