Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I get the "Loading 1/0" message.

PHP Formatted Code
<div id="theMini">Generated By <a href="http://www.flashyourweb.com/staticpages/index.php?page=embed-o-rator" target="_blank">The Acme MiniSlideShow EMBED-O-RATOR</a></div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.freshchristmastree.com/js/swfobject.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
// <![CDATA[
var so = new SWFObject("http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/minislideshow.swf", "minislideshow", "290", "400", "9.0.115.0", "ffffff");
so.addParam("flashVars","xmlUrl=http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=rss.SimpleRender&g2_itemId=154&delay=5&noLink=true&showControls=false");
so.addParam("wmode","transparent");
so.addParam("allowFullscreen","true");
so.addParam("allowScriptAccess","always");
so.write("theMini");
// ]]>
</script>

PHP Formatted Code
   /* Connect to gallery */
    function init (){
            require_once( 'embed.php');
            $ret = GalleryEmbed::init(array('fullInit' => true, 'embedUri' => '/gallery/main.php', 'g2Uri' => '/gallery/'));
            if ($ret) {
                print 'GalleryEmbed::init failed, here is the error message: ' . $ret->getAsHtml();
                exit;
            }
            GalleryEmbed::done();
    }

Is there any way that minislideshow could provide some debug information so we know why it is not happy.

xmlUrl=http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=rss.SimpleRender&g2_itemId=154

That's from the RSS module which does not contain the proper nodes - The whole reason I went ahead and created my own generator.

You'll either have to use gallery2's slideshow module's mediaRss feed or my mediaRss.php feed generator.

Thanks for the very quick reply!

Okay. I tried both values you listed above. Now I get the a new message of "Unable to Load XML" which then switches to "Loading 1/0"

<div id="theMini">Generated By <a href="http://www.flashyourweb.com/staticpages/index.php?page=embed-o-rator" target="_blank">The Acme MiniSlideShow EMBED-O-RATOR</a></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
// <![CDATA[
var so = new SWFObject("http://freshchristmastree.com/gallery/minislideshow.swf", "minislideshow", "290", "400", "9.0.115.0", "ffffff"Wink;
so.addParam("flashVars","xmlUrl=http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=slideshow.SlideshowMediaRss%26g2_itemId=154"Wink;
so.addParam("wmode","transparent"Wink;
so.addParam("allowFullscreen","true"Wink;
so.addParam("allowScriptAccess","always"Wink;
so.write("theMini"Wink;
// ]]>
</script>

Also, when I plug both of the URL's you provided me in the Embed-O-Rator... I get the following message when I try and click on the "Get Embed Code" button.

"Please enter a g2_itemId."

Thanks..

This would be the feed url: http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/mediaRss.php
and this would be the g2_itemId: 154
Also with flash's security if you use www in the url to the minislideshow.swf you need to use it in the url to the feed like I did below.

PHP Formatted Code
<div id="theMini">Generated By <a href="http://www.flashyourweb.com/staticpages/index.php?page=embed-o-rator" target="_blank">The Acme MiniSlideShow EMBED-O-RATOR</a></div>
<script type="text/javascript">
// <![CDATA[
var so = new SWFObject("http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/minislideshow.swf", "minislideshow", "290", "400", "9.0.115.0", "ffffff");
so.addParam("flashVars","xmlUrl=http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/mediaRss.php?g2_itemId=154&useFull=true");
so.addParam("wmode","transparent");
so.addParam("allowFullscreen","true");
so.addParam("allowScriptAccess","always");
so.write("theMini");
// ]]>
</script>

Works for me

Ugh! Thanks. I found the problem. I think I may have found a bug or unintended feature in the Embed-o-rator.

1) I went to my gallery and found the album I wanted. Then I clicked on the RSS feed in the gallery album and got this URL:

http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=rss.SimpleRender&g2_itemId=154

2) I copied the URL directly from my browser's address bar.
3) I visited the Embed-o-Rator.
4) I pasted the URL directly into"XML" field. (The second text input box on your form) When that box lost focus, some ajax kicked in and I saw "Gallery 3, hooray!"
5) The form field that lets you input the "Album Id" is automatically hidden.
6) I tweak a few features and press on "Get Embed Code" and get the following (which does not work)

PHP Formatted Code
<div id="theMini">Generated By <a href="http://www.flashyourweb.com/staticpages/index.php?page=embed-o-rator" target="_blank">The Acme MiniSlideShow EMBED-O-RATOR</a></div>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.freshchristmastree.com/js/swfobject.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
// <![CDATA[
var so = new SWFObject("http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/minislideshow.swf", "minislideshow", "290", "400", "9.0.115.0", "ffffff");
so.addParam("flashVars","xmlUrl=http://www.freshchristmastree.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=rss.SimpleRender&g2_itemId=154&delay=5&noLink=true&showControls=false");
so.addParam("wmode","transparent");
so.addParam("allowFullscreen","true");
so.addParam("allowScriptAccess","always");
so.write("theMini");
// ]]>
</script>

7) At this point I come to this forum to ask for help from you in a new browser window. The old Embed-o-rator is still up.
8) You give me those two new URL's which I paste into the embed-o-rator's XML field.
9) I click on "Get Embed Code" but I get a message stating that I'm missing the Album ID. This is where I mess up. I didn't see that when I changed the XML value, the "Album ID" field was un-hidden again via ajax. ALSO: I didn't need to paste in the URL with all the parameters. I just needed to enter the URL to mediaRss.php in my case. Then, I needed to add the "Album ID" in that new un-hidden field.

SO.... Thanks for the help. However, that "Gallery 3 hooray" feature seems a little bit buggy still. Perhaps the UI on the embed-o-rator could use some tweaking.

Thanks for all your help. It is working now.
